The Bulgarian Teachers’ Union (SBU) is urging its members in Gabrovo to sign a petition supporting the proposal to introduce “Religion” as a mandatory subject.
In a message to teachers, directors, and educational staff from SBU – Gabrovo, they request:
Please sign the Open Letter supporting the introduction of Christianity-Orthodox Religion as a regular subject in Bulgarian schools to support the Ministry of Education and Science. Also, share the link with all SBU members in your educational institutions so they can sign as well, by the end of April 2025. The link leads to an online petition organized by Mario Lagadov.
At the same time, a parallel petition is underway opposing the introduction of this subject as a mandatory course.
