Dismantle this country!

Надежда Чипева/Капинал

“We do all kinds of dismantling: of microphones, journalists, media”. Until today, this post on the Facebook profile of the fired from “Nova TV” Genka Shikerova sounded just as an ingenious metaphor. Today, at 6 o’clock in the morning, the dismantling became a fact. For five hours the radio signal of the program “Horizont” of the National Radio was interrupted! Like never before!

The official explanation for the blank air was fake news produced not by anyone else but by the new media Management – “profilaxy of the transmitters”. The real reason – no one wanted to host the morning block of the radio, after the journalist Silvia Velikova was taken off the air – https://www.dnevnik.bg/analizi/2019/09/12/3962737_tia_zadava_neudobni_vuprosi_silviia_velikova_koiato/ because of her critical position on the non-alternative nomination of Ivan Geshev for a new Attorney General.

Velikova later said she had a conversation with the current and new director of the Bulgarian National Radio, in which she was told that the pressure to remove her was so strong that “a possible refusal would mean

the radio to be ruined”.

There is no need for explanations or clarifications. They sound false, like Borissov’s oaths that he “could not figure out who did it” and Sotir Tsatsarov’s order for an inspection in which Geshev himself will have to find out who stopped the air of “Horizont”. It sounds scary if the Prime Minister really didn’t know who did it hours later.

Borissov can pay attention to the words of the host herself, who said that she was mentioned several times that she had a problem with the way she covered Geshev. And removing it from the air is clearly part of the whole attempt to make a positive campaign for the only candidate for the seven-year uncontrolled term of the new Attorney General. Because none of his predecessors provoked such categorical and motivated negative reactions even before he was elected. But never before has such a reckless mobilization of the public and media bottom has been reached in order to seek legitimacy.

Today, the effect of all this is silence on the air.

Yes,

public media are an element of national security

of Bulgaria! But it was broken by those who were given a mandate to protect it!

After the appointment of “middle finger” as director of public television, it is no longer a guarantor of anything else but lasting and humiliating uncriticism of the outrage of the jeep authorities in Bulgaria. And “Nova TV” became the property of Kiril Domuschiev, who before acquiring it allowed himself to publicly call an “oligophrenic” journalist whose questions he did not like. For his show, the prime minister had flown to Razgrad in a military helicopter.

The silence of the air of the National Radio for five hours was

a sound picture

of the state to which Bulgarian journalism was deliberately and with consistent treachery brought to. In this “black hole” everything is now possible:

– and the evacuation in Valencia of Plamen Georgiev – a man with a penchant for documentary tricks for personal gain

– and the press conference without media of GERB

– and the disarmament in front of the newly elected Chair-person of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen with the microphones removed at her briefing in Sofia. And then by blaming herself for it

– and the cruel spectacle with which the candidate of “Democratic Bulgaria” Borislav Ignatov had to be removed from the arranged landscape of the campaign for the mayoral elections in the capital

– and these “Seventeen Moments of Autumn” with Reshetnikov’s spies

– and the bland mish-mash with the “coup” against Borisov, uncovered by what-was-his-name, better known as the son of the “Chicago” and the buddy of the “Spot”

– all the way to the tattooed squads and the uneducated Roma brought from the ghettos to jointly pave the way for the new Attorney General.

Here, for this coup, the people in power need controlled air.

But when it comes down to it, free citizens have the right to take matters into their own hands. To remove from the jeeps those who dismantled their microphone and to delegate to others the right to govern on their behalf. This is not a coup – it is a democracy!
